The Oshawa Dodgers are thrilled to announce IBL All-Star Stevie Lewis’

category with the Dodgers last season.  He was first in team batting with a
.374 average and sixth overall in the Intercounty
Baseball League.  In 27 regular season games he
had 34 hits including 6doubles, eight stolen bases
and 9 RBI.  Lewis, known for his clutch
performances, came up big last season in the
Dodgers’ only playoff victory against eventual IBL
champion Toronto Maple Leafs when he singled
to drive in the winning run in extra innings capping
off a three hit, two RBI performance.  Stevie was
named as a 2nd team IBL all-star and captured
team awards for Batting Average, On Base
Percentage and Season MVP. Stevie is a Senior at Southern Nazarene
University where he is currently batting .353 with 24 hits including 7
doubles, 3 home runs and 20 RBI in 22 games. “Stevie is a tremendous
competitor,” says Dodgers Vice President Kerri Drake.  “His athletic ability
and commitment to baseball will be a great asset to our team this season.
Last year, he led by example with his play and attitude on and off the
field.  We look for Stevie to follow up his impressive 2008 campaign with
another successful season.”
Lewis will anchor an outfield that will also include newcomers Nate Smith,
Ryan Fleming and Sean Cunningham.
