The Oshawa Dodgers would like to congratulate
catcher Peter Bako who was selected by the
Pittsburgh Pirates in the 15th round (445th overall) of
the 2009 MLB amateur entry draft. Bako, a freshman
this season at Connors State in Oklahoma had a very
impressive college season.  In 36 games he batted
.382 with 50 hits including 9 doubles, a triple, 3
homeruns and 25 RBI and led the team in stolen bases
with 9.  Bako has also been off to a great start with
Peter Bako Drafted in 15th Round of MLB Draft
the Dodgers this summer, his first full season with the club.  He currently
leads the team in batting average (.385) and stolen bases (4) is 10-for-26
with 6 RBI including a homerun and boasts a stellar 1.000 fielding
percentage.  The Mississauga native is a product of the Ontario Blue Jays
system where he started as a 15-year-old under the tutelage of coaches Dan
Bleiwas and Sean Travers. The Oshawa Dodgers are extremely proud of
Peter and this great accomplishment he has so deservingly achieved.  His
hardwork and dedication to baseball is a reflection of this tremendous honour
and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
