The Oshawa Dodgers would like to
congratulate bullpen catcher Jamie
May who captured the OBA Bantam
Championship on Labour Day
weekend with his Clarington Orioles
team.  The Orioles faced a tough
schedule playing one game Friday
night; three games
back-to-back-to-back Saturday and
another three games Sunday.  May
caught all seven games and played
Bullpen Catcher May Ontario Bantam Champ
defensively making some game saving plays behind the plate.  Offensively he was
also outstanding highlighted by a game winning RBI single in a 10-9 victory over
Markham.  The Orioles, who only had 10 players for the weekend, went 6-1 in
the double elimination tournament.  They were a perfect 5-0 going into the finals
versus Vaughan where they had to be beat twice.  Vaughan took the first game
with Clarington prevailing in game two for the 2009 OBA  Bantam Title and giving
Clarington it’s 1st ever OBA Championship.
