Oshawa Dodgers 10, Hamilton Cardinals 5
In Hamilton, Darryl Reid clubbed a three-run homer in the fourth
inning that helped the Oshawa Dodgers double the Hamilton
Cardinals 10-5 in the Intercounty Baseball League on Wednesday.
Reid had three hits in the game, including a double and a key sac
bunt in the 3rd. Reid takes over the Intercounty lead in RBI with
10 as he drove in six runs tonight.
Oshawa Junior call-up Chris Papalia added a double, scored three
times and played a solid short stop
Starter Dan Nauth (1-0-1) gave up five runs and six hits in 5 2/3
innings for the win.
Ryan Fraser (0-0) came in relief of Nauth and pitch 1 inning of
solid relief.
Travis Gilligan pitched the final 2 1/3 innings to pick up the save
in his Intercounty debut.
The Dodgers’ defence was the difference tonight as they turned 2
bases loaded double plays to end the 2nd and 3rd innings while
they trailed in the game to keep the score close until the bats
exploded for 6 runs.
