Panthers Down Dodgers in Bottom of 9th
Andy Pietraszko’s two-out single in the bottom of the ninth inning drove
home Terrell Alliman and gave Kitchener Panthers a 6-5 win over
Oshawa Dodgers in Jack Couch Park last night. Panthers with the win
appear to have turned the corner.
Kitchener led 4-3 entering the seventh inning; however, Oshawa re-
gained the lead with a two-run home run by Phil Stone. Kitchener tied
the game in the eighth as Bryon Bell drove in Luke Baker followed by
Pietraszko's homer for the win.
Jake Hines started for the Panthers and pitched seven innings. He gave
up five runs on six hits while striking out five. Lee Witmer picked up the
win in relief with two innings of scoreless relief. Dodgers Kevin Wallace
started and went seven innings. He was tagged for four runs on five hits
while recording six strikeouts. Tom Colbary took the loss in relief.
For Panthers, Alliman connected for two hits and three RBIs, including his
three-run homer in second inning. It was his second three-run home run
in as many games at home. Justin Wendt added two hits. Travis Skelton
and Phil Stone led the Dodgers with two hits each.
