Dodgers Rally With Huge Come From Behind Victory
Oshawa sent 11 batters to the plate in the ninth inning and the Dodgers
scored six times to edge Barrie Baycats 7-6 in one of two Intercounty
Baseball League games played tonight in Barrie Metals Stadium.
In the fateful ninth with two out Josh Brock doubled to left centre to score
Steve Lewis from second base with the game-winning run for Oshawa.
Blake Prior (1-0) got the win in relief of starter Greg Byron. Byron went
four innings allowing five runs on five hits. He was replaced in turn by
Tom Colbary, Prior, and Kevin Wallace, who got credit for the save. Prior
gave up just two hits.
For Barrie, Angus Roy went seven innings without giving up an earned
run. He had five strikeouts while allowing four hits and a walk. He was
replaced in turn by Adam Zorzit, Ken Price, and Kyle Payne, but the
bullpen was unable to hold off Oshawa. Payne (0-1) took the loss going
two-thirds of an inning while giving up two earned runs on four hits.
Darren Sawyers had four hits for Oshawa as well as an RBI and a stolen
base. Steve Lewis added two singles and an RBI and Ken Calway
recorded his 200th career hit with the Dodgers. Barrie’s Glenn Jackson
had three hits including a double.
