Robinson Four-Hits T-Birds
OSHAWA—Pitcher Scott Robinson (2-1-2) threw eight strong innings as
the Oshawa Dodgers upset the Hamilton Thunderbirds 6-1 in one of two
Intercounty Baseball League games played in Kinsmen Stadium tonight
Robinson did not give up any earned runs and allowed just four hits and
one walk as he earned his second victory of the season. He retired
seven of the batters he faced on strikes.
Mark Tourangeau took the loss for Hamilton working three and two third
innings and giving up five earned runs on eight hits. He issued three
free passes, but did strike out four batters.
Oshawa tallied two runs in the opening inning when Phil Stone singled.
Travis Skelton smacked a two-run triple, and Darren Sawyers and Brad
McConnachie batted in single runs in the four-run fourth inning. For the
Dodgers, Sawyers collected three hits including a pair of doubles and
batted in one run. Geoff Allen led Hamilton with a triple.
