Red Sox Complete Doubleheader Sweep
In the second game of the twinbill, Josh McCurdy' was a one-man
wrecking crew for Brantford as his two-run single broke open a close
game in the seventh inning allowing the Red Sox to win 5-1 over
Oshawa and sweep the IBL doubleheader.
Not only did McCurdy break the deadlock, he had two hits and stole
three bases. For Oshawa, Travis Skelton had one hit and one RBI.
Mark Ferguson got the victory in relief without allowing an earned run,
a hit, or a walk. Starter Steve Murray went five and one third innings
allowing one run on two hits and two walks. He struck out three.
Kevin Wallace (0-1-2) took the loss. He gave up four earned runs on
six hits and a walk, and a strikeout. Gord Robertson got the start for
Oshawa. In five innings on the mound, he gave up one run on three
hits and two walks. Robertson struck out three batters.
