Barrie Bats Too Much For Dodgers Pitching

Playing-manager Angus Roy connected for two home runs in three trips
to the plate as the Barrie Baycats downed the Oshawa Dodgers 8-1 in
IBL action today at Kinsmen Stadium.

Ryan Fisher pitched a complete game as he earned the victory.  He
allowed one run on six hits and three walks in going the distance.  He
also had five strikeouts.  Oshawa’s Scott Robinson (2-2-3) was charged
with the loss as he was tagged for four runs on seven hits through six
innings.  He walked one man and struck out two others.  Gord Robertson
came on in relief and pitched three innings.  He gave up three runs on
five hits, and struck out four batters.

In addition to Roy with his home runs for the Baycats, Ryan Spataro also
contributed a home run in the top of the ninth.  He had two singles and
an RBI.  Teammate Jeff Cowan scored the game winning run in the top of
the first inning, and followed with a single, double and two RBIs.  Darren
Sawyers, Ken Calway, and Brad McConnachie had a hit and a walk each
for Oshawa.
