Leafs Prevail in 10 Innings
Toronto Maple Leafs threw their best at the Oshawa Dodgers including
Paul Spoljaric as well as an hour long rain delay, and still it took 10
innings before the Leafs were able to put the Dodgers away 3-2 in IBL
action here at Oshawa tonight (Thursday).
Winning pitcher for the Maple Leafs was Jeff Reeves who handled the
final two and two-thirds innings of the game. He threw a one-hitter while
striking out three batters and issuing two walks. Spoljaric worked through
the inclement weather for seven innings with Matt Firth pitching one-third
of an inning.
Scott Kelly, the fourth pitcher on the night for Oshawa was the losing
pitcher. He was victimized in the 10th by the Leafs giving up one run on
two hits. Scott Robinson started the game and lasted five innings. Greg
Byron followed and pitched two innings with Matt Tosoni going two
innings as well.
Jeremy Walker was Toronto’s best at the plate with two hits including a
double and two RBIs. Gamin Teague added three singles with Damon
Topolie getting two more. For the hometown Dodgers, Brad
