Dodgers Move Into 1st Place in IBL with Sweep
In Stratford, the Oshawa Dodgers moved into sole possession of first
place in the IBL with a doubleheader sweep over the Stratford
In the opener, Cam Gray tossed a complete game two-hit shutout as
the Dodgers blanked the Nationals 6-0.
Gray (2-0) was very sharp, striking out eight and walking two, and got
plenty of early run support to get Oshawa off to a good start in the first
of two seven inning games.
Bryan Condotta had two hits, including a triple, for the Dodgers, who
had nine hits and scored six runs in the first four innings and were
Shawn Gillespie also pitched a complete game for Stratford and was
the loser, allowing six runs – four earned – on nine hits, striking out
five and walking six.
In the second game, the Dodgers scored six runs in the second inning
to lead 6-0 early and then held on for the win to improve to 4-1. Adam
Garner picked up the win on the mound, allowing one hit over 3 2/3
innings with six strikeouts, and Marcus Knecht homered.
Matt Marlow was the loser for the Nationals, allowing three earned runs
on four hits with one strikeout and three walks over five innings.
