Majors Take Game One

In London, the Majors took the opening game of their Intercounty
Baseball League semi-final series with a 7-4 win in one of two games
Thursday night.

Jess Bechard led the Majors with two hits and four RBI's including a
three-run home run in the third inning. Jeff Helps also had three hits for
the Majors.

Tyler Johnstone had three hits including a double and an RBI for
Oshawa while Ryan Fleming and Steve Wickens each had a single and
an RBI.

Winning pitcher Medhi Djebbar (1-0) shut the door on the Dodgers'
eighth inning rally, giving up only two hits, two walks and striking out two
in relief of starter Josh Palmer. Palmer gave up all four runs, only two
were earned, on four hits, three walks with five strikeouts.

Oshawa starter Cam Gray (1-2) gave up six runs on seven hits, three
walks and one strikeout in seven innings. Aaron Gordon pitched one
third of an inning before Brett Backman finished up.
