Baycats Hold On To First With Win Over Dodgers

The Barrie Baycats scored seven runs in the third inning to rout the
Oshawa Dodgers 11-1 in the lone game played in the Intercounty
Baseball League on Monday night.

The Baycats improved to 13-3 with the win, opening up a 1 ½ game
lead on the second place Brantford Red Sox. The Dodgers slipped
to 9-10, still in fifth place in the IBL.

Dave Latour had a three-run double in Barrie’s big third inning and
the Baycats took advantage of several costly Oshawa errors to pick
up the win, making the most of their nine hits.

Matt Logan added a solo homer for the winners, while starter Brad
Bissell picked up the win. Bissell went five innings, allowing one run
on three hits with five strikeouts.

Sean Travers had two hits for the Dodgers while Jordan Castaldo
drove in the lone Oshawa run with a first inning single. Starter Chris
Nagorski took the loss, allowing 10 runs, 3 earned, on six hits over 2
1/3 innings.
