Leafs Shut Down Dodgers

At Christie Pits, Marek Deska pitched a complete game two-hitter
and struckout 14 Oshawa Dodgers as the Toronto Maple Leafs
shutout the Dodgers 2-0 in one of three Intercounty Baseball
League games Wednesday night.

Deska allowed a lead-off double to Kofi Osei-Aning before
Osei-Aning scratched out an infield hit in the ninth inning. Deska
allowed only two other base runners, walks in the first and second
innings. In between, he retired 21 consecutive Oshawa batters

Kyle Degrace led the Leafs with two hits, two stolen bases and a run
scored while Jeremy Walker hit a solo home run to lead off the fifth
inning. Raul Borjas' second inning single scored Degrace with the
winning run.

Losing pitcher Adam Garner also went the distance, giving up eight
Toronto hits and striking out six with no walks.
