Dodgers Fall Short in Guelph

In Guelph, Dan Zehr and two relievers combined on a nine-hitter as
the host Royals slid by the Oshawa Dodgers 2-1.

Zehr went seven innings, allowing one run on seven hits with seven
strikeouts and one walk, to get the win. Adam Rowe and Andrew
Karkoulas finished up with one scoreless inning of relief each, with
both pitchers allowing one hit.

Frankie Hare hit a home run in the bottom of the first and Geoff
McCallum scored the other Guelph run on a wild pitch in the bottom
of the seventh inning for the deciding run off loser Adam Garner.

Garner went all the way for the Dodgers, allowing two runs on seven
hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

Marcus Knecht hit a solo homer in the second inning for Oshawa’s
lone run and Jordan Castaldo and Peter Bako both had two hits for
the Dodgers.
