Dodgers Hold On to Defeat Twins 9-8
In Mississauga, Marcus Knecht had four hits, including three
doubles and a home run, to lead the Oshawa Dodgers past the
reeling Mississauga Twins 9-8.
Rickey Thomas also homered and had three hits for the Dodgers,
while Tyler Patzalek added another homer and scored twice for the
winners. Oshawa improved to 15-16 with the win, while Twins (7-22)
remained just one game ahead of the Hamilton Thunderbirds for the
final playoff spot in the IBL.
Greg Byron got the win on the mound, going 6 1/3 innings. He
allowed five runs on 11 hits with three strikeouts and a walk before
Nick DaSilva finished up. DaSilva went 2 1/3 innings, allowing three
runs on four hits with two strikeouts and a walk.
Loser Shane Cole went three innings, allowing five runs on four hits
with three strikeouts and five walks for the Twins. Brandon Joseph
homered and scored twice, while Brandon Emmett had three hits
and also scored twice.
